Argentina – Buenos Aires bingo halls granted reprieve

The five bingo halls operating in the City of Buenos Aires have been given permission to continue operating until December 1 2015 by Argentina’s Loteria Nacional.

Future operations after this date will require new legislation.

Argentina’s Gambling Trade Union leader, Ariel Fassione, said: “Loteria Nacional has told us that despite reservations demonstrated at all times by Buenos Aires’s Instituto de Juegos, the national government has taken the decision to extend permits for the five bingos that expired on June 5 with the intention of safeguarding the jobs of over 450 workers employed by bingos Belgrano, Caballito, Flores, Congreso and Lavalle.”
